It's not really a nickname in the way that we have in England though, it's become his actual name that everyone calls him. As for why it's always his nickname and his surname when he scores, it's probably because in Portugal you'll frequently get a lot of players with the same last name so it's much more customary to use first and last name.Why is he always officially down as "Rony" Lopes.
Is that not just a nickname because of Ronaldo?
