Ross Barkley

Didn't he create more chances than anyone else in the PL last season?

I think hes the english player whos created the most chances. its a no brainer for me. apparently spurs see him as a dembele like player and i think he'd be awesome in that role. yaya and fern are getting older and we can't rely on them and gundogan is always injured. for 20m its a no brainer for me. young, enlglish players with lots of potential.

His only attractive feature is his homegrown status. Other than that he's trash. Despite there not being many homegrown options available there's better than him. I'd rather keep Delph.

Delph over Barkley !

Comfortably. I believe he'd be staying if it wasn't for his injury record. He covers several positions quite well and is a good Fernandinho alternative in midfield, on the few occasions he played there for us he played well, you just can't have a utility man that is never fit as he basically never plays as he isn't an automatic pick when he is fit.

Barkley is a number 10, a bang average one that needs the team moulded around him to have any use. We have Silva/KDB/Bernardo and a handful of others capable of playing there that are all miles better than him. He'll get a move to a top 6 side because of his homegrown status, prove to be mediocre for a few seasons before dropping down to midtable level where he'll do okay for himself as the main man. Everton aren't even bothering to try to persuade him to stay which suggests his quality.

Have disagree mate. Delph is an average premier league player. Barkley is a top 4 team player. Time will tell I suppose though pal.

Fair enough. Don't disagree with Delph, i'd say he's a good premier league player but not much more, i just see more value to our current squad in him (if he was fit) due to his position and versatility than what Barkley would offer when we've got half a dozen players that can do anything Barkley offers better. As you say mate, wwe'll likely find out soon enough wherever he ends up.

True mate. We're blessed with top class midfielders. Just think a young English skilfull player like him could do a job for us. Do we still need to fill our homegrown quota for next year with hart and delph gone ?
