Rotherham child abuse scandal

No I'm ignoring someone's take on it. I come from a perspective that most people no matter what colour they are, generally are inherently good. Scum bags do stuff like that, scum bags belittle daughter in laws. My white British wife had to put up with all sorts of shit from her husbands family in her first marriage. She was put down in public, belittled, her confidence took a pounding, she would be told she was fat, her hair was stupid, she was thick (all dressed up in the cowards vale of banter) it happens everywhere. My Asian doctor wouldnt beat his wife. My wife's friend who married a Asian lad has had nothing but support from her family especially as the lad works 7 days a week 10 hours a day. The Muslim guy across the road from me most definitely does not wear the trousers in his house I can say very confidently. Don't let understandable outrage let bad things into the issue. This is not a time to begin or at least instigating throwing the baby out with the bath water. Let's just sort some scumbags out.

Who has mentioned throwing the baby out with the bathwater?

As it happens these crimes committed in Rotherham have been committed by (An overwhelming majority) of Pakistani (Not Asian) men. In this instance we start exactly there and then bring to book the enablers who didn't report or prosecute when they had reports to work with.

Recognising the problem in these towns is a start and from that start we can start trying to solve the issue by implementing workable solutions that councils and the police have to abide by.

The message should be simple.

Children in this country should never be seen as targets for sex and anyone offending and targeting children should face the full force of the law....without ethnic sensibilities getting in the way.

Which is exactly what happened here.

First of all whoever is involved should be severely punished in such a way that they make an example of the offenders which I hope it happens but I doubt it will
But if we are really serious about tackling the issue it won't happen by putting a blame on just one community,(on the side note there is not much difference in how Pakistani,Indians, bangalis look),I in no way is defending the Pakistanis who were involved and in my opinion sexual offenders should be jailed for maximum term but Vatican child abuse scandal is not that old which just shows its not a problem of one community, its the sicknesses in the mind of the individuals which could be only tackled by severe punishments or else we would be commenting on another topic like this even after 10 years
My solution would be
1# who or un conference on the issue one punishment could be recommended for sexual offenders all over the world and respective countries should devise the system of including those severe punishments in there criminal prosecution system
2# Massive efforts on education of this issue on international and national level on county basis
This scandal should be a wake up call for not only UK but for the whole world and it shouldnt end up being slid under the radar.if something is not done now then like I said before we would all be commenting on the same issue in another 10 years aswell
My suggestion of un conference might seem a joke or a dream to few but I guess un was made to tackle the social norms aswell

I would agree with the general flavour of the post and it does need to be looked at holistically.

But in this instance it's perfectly acceptable to point out that if it was Pakistanis committing the crimes then it's Pakistanis we should be targeting by arresting detaining and charging them for the crimes they have committed.

The underlying disregard for white girls needs some serious attention too.

I can't disagree with any of that Daz, not sure anyone else can either.

On a slight side issue, and not isolated to this one case, I think British society as a whole, has a problem with how it treats young white girls (and boys) from difficult backgrounds.

Growing up, I can distinctly remember that the girls from the children's home were considered fair game for a shag, as distasteful as it sounds. Everyone from dodgy adults, to dodgy coppers,to a very dodgy DJ, to young lads who didn't know what to do with their first hard on, used to sniff around them (and this was in a town where the Pakistani community consisted of one old giffer and his wife in the corner shop).

I don't think attitudes have changed very much either to be honest. Terms like 'Trailer Trash', 'Kappa Slappers', 'Chav Slags' etc, are still banded around about young girls from deprived and troubled backgrounds, and they tend to be housed in areas that are less than salubrious shit holes (See the post above about the care home in Rochdale).

An ex of mine had problems at home growing up and was put in a care home in Burnely (a bloody rough part of Burnley it was too!). She told me tales of the street outside being full of men in the evening, half of them wanting to shag them, half of them wanting to burn the place down because it was full of 'slags and prostitutes'. These were 14, 15 year old girls, many of whom had already been sexually abused in some way by members of their own family, she said living there was one of the scariest times of her life, when it should have been a safe haven!

I don't think the Pakistani men of Rotheram and Rochdale targeted these girls because they are white, they targeted them because no one really gives a fuck about these 'problem' girls, and therefore they are more likely to get away with their sick crimes.

That these misogynistic, depraved, Pakistani men, treated these girls as less than human, isn't in doubt. However, the authorities and organisations that were meant to care and look after them, seem to have thought of them as less than human too. The establishment thinks of them as less than human, and society at large doesn't really like to think about them at all.

Then they should be example of,they shouldnt even care about the social uproar or the racist allegations when evidences will be there,I sincerely from all my heart wish and pray that
The thing is if you look all over the world many countries facing the issue of child abuse and rape of women they don't have strong laws to deal with the issue and that's why these sick people get away,I hope one day the decision makers could come on table to discuss these issues aswell

Good post m8 and a lot to mull over for sure.

I've quoted the part that I believe is the crux of the problem (Someone upthread mentioned class as a dynamic) and your reference to the establishment and power brokers not doing anything to protect these children.

The system that failed these children needs tearing down and the incumbent occupants made to pay for their unwillingness to do their jobs. They made it easier for predators which in this particular instance happen to be Pakistani men to get away with their crimes.....in exactly the same way the establishment quietened down allegations against famous nonces which are coming to light now.

At the present moment in time I don't want to see promises that strategies will be put in place and that protocols will be pushed into service to ensure this never happens again.

I want to see punishment and court cases and people thrown in jail for not doing their jobs and for being accessories to a crime that sickens everyone.

A voice of reason...

A 27 year old police officer who works in Rotherham has been charged with forcing a 15 year old girl to engage in a sex act.

Now the shit hits the fan.
