Who is the hard man leader?

Agreed. That famous pic of Mackay holding Bremner up by his shirt on his tip toes said it all. He could have eaten Bremner for breakfast. Quite a few of the Leeds team at that time were dirty, snidey bastards. Built in the mould of Don Revie who as a manager would try any trick he could to gain an advantage. TBF to Revie, he was years ahead of his time in that respect and when he got Leeds playing the football they were capable of they were a great team.
ALL of them, from Sprake forwards, were dirty, snidey bastards, who wouldn't hesitate to foul the opposition if it benefitted them. The irony was that they were a bloody good side when they wanted to play, but seemed happy to be cast as "dirty Leeds" and revel in the notoriety.

There was a rumour going around that Franny finished the job on Hunter later on after both were sent off.
I still find the McCreadie assault on Bremner in the fa cup final replay hilarious to this day.
Think you can safely say Chelsea were just as hard as that Leeds side if not harder.

You never saw Keane act the hard man when he was playing against the likes of Big Duncan Ferguson, that’s for sure.

Still, Keane was definitely a good captain that demanded the absolute maximum from his team and had a lot of passion, I can respect that part. There’s not many real leaders like that around today. Just a shame he played for United, although it did end with him slagging off his team on their TV channel and walking out.

There were three groups who never gave Big Dunc any mither - footballers, burglars and the inmates of Barlinnie!
