Why do we not pick up these players when they are going for a few bob?

Because they aren't finished articles and you need to nurture unknown players by giving them plenty of game time which big clubs don't intend to do because there is too high of a risk.

They will ask for big money full stop if we come knocking.

If we go in for him in January, the key may be what the player wants - and there is clear evidence to suggest that he would be attracted to MCFC. Wolves only have to look at what happened with Mahrez to see why doing a sensible deal in January would be reasonable approach.

I guess that we may find Wolves have delusions of grandeur that get in the way of a deal.

He would be a plan B to Frenkie IMO,so i cant imagine any move before we have made an approach to Ajax and received a reply.That may happen in January as we allow him to 'return' on loan.

I think we do already. City have bought loads of young players for the academy and for the other clubs in the group over the last few years. The problem seems to have been developing them to a level where they are good enough for the first team.

And thats why the academy is a revenue generator. But we should have buy back clauses and first refusals in all our sales of promising talents we sell moving forward (Sancho).
