Rugby League Season 2023

In 23 years of watching Wire, I can only remember Wire getting one dodgy call against Saints (CC final 2019 - Knowles, No Try).

It feels like Saints get dodgy calls against Wire every ten minutes!

I was watching the cricket, and only saw the last 3 minutes, so missed all that!
I've long since given up trying to work out what is a forward pass (although if Wilkin goes as far as "difficult to tell", that probably means "yes"!).

Saints-Catalans next week.

At least the Pies lost.

Two crackers next week with Wigan v Wire and Saints v Catalans.

Wakefield should be a big club. It’s a bigger city than all the North West SL clubs’ towns and cities, there is no football club in the city, there are hardly any football clubs around the region, it’s a proper rugby league city (everyone I’ve ever met from Wakey is a big RL fan)… yet they’re always down the bottom or up and down the leagues.

That is one place that’s crying out for a proper successful RL club and it would be a huge shot in the arm for the sport to have another club competing.

So the Rhinos edged out Salford on a tense and controversial game. The penalty count was heavily against Salford but the Rhinos have had a try disallowed for obstruction for the 3rd week in a row. The other 2 were very contentious but I haven’t had a good look at this one.

Salford seemed to get a bit frazzled with Leeds’ game management and a few Salford fans tried to get at the ref at the bed of the game.
