Close match though.Warrington...The Wire... whatever you want to call them.

I’m from Warrington and watched them with my dad, he died at 79 and went to his first match at 7 by being smuggled in with his mates, helped by the blokes in the crowd. I’ve been to the Willows many times, and Wire always won, and was gutted the other day when Salford forced those last two tries. I hope the Red Devils lift the cup, (the originals, not that shite who stole the name off Salford, and named their crumbling shithole after Lancashire CC).My 73 yeard old dad, a long standing Salford supporter, has been to every Challenge Cup Final for the last 45 odd years and he was there, with my mum, in 69. He took me to my first when I was 11. The only one he has missed in all that time was 17 years ago after quite a severe stroke (still has no use of his left arm and drags his left leg). I can't fucking believe the one time Salford get there and he can't go. Fucking gutted for him but we will be watching it together.
Bollox, when I first went crowds were 30,000 plus, and I’ve seen them win, and lose at Wembley, a frustrating side for sure, but no tiddlers.Warrington...The Wire... whatever you want to call them.

Ellery Hanley lives near me and we occasionally have a chat about Rugby League. We don’t discuss Wigan too much because I don’t mention their name and call them “your lot”. Still they were the best British team in my lifetime. No tiddlers I agree, but couldn't come close to the Wigan team for decades, the team everyone wanted to beat, but couldn't,seems even to this day Warrington still don't.
And as for 30k fans at Wilderspool.........you might have been to games with those crowds on,but was probably at Central Park not at home that's for sure.
We’re big enough that Saints fans can’t ever stop talking about us.Warrington...The Wire... whatever you want to call them.

Sorry, buddy you’re wrong about crowd sizes, Wigan has certainly had higher averages over the years, but go back to the 50’s and earlier, the place was rammed. No tiddlers I agree, but couldn't come close to the Wigan team for decades, the team everyone wanted to beat, but couldn't,seems even to this day Warrington still don't.
