Thin rumour but definitely feasible. Could be an attemp to stop Baines going to rags ?

Now this could be one of the most barmy County Road Whispers we have ever heard, but Joleon Lescott might return to Everton, the club he left under a cloud in 2009, on loan in January.
Lescott joined Manchester City in a deal worth a reported £24 million and up until this season has been a regular for Roberto Mancini’s side. However, he has fallen out of favour and is fuming after being dropped for Sunday’s trip to Chelsea.
Kolo Toure was selected ahead of Lescott on the bench at Stamford Bridge and Lescott isn’t happy with his situation at the Eithad. The England defender, who spent three years at Goodison Park, is now looking to move away in January either permanently or on loan.
With Everton set for central defensive changes in the New Year, David Moyes is thought to be interested in taking Lescott in a shock loan deal.
Our man in the know Barry Mayo reckons it’s a bit of a goer, but he had been on the loopy juice all weekend when he rang us with this latest whisper. Any potential move for Lescott probably wouldn’t go down too well with Evertonians after his protracted move to City, but who knows what can happen in football these days!
