Thin rumour but definitely feasible. Could be an attemp to stop Baines going to rags ?

Now this could be one of the most barmy County Road Whispers we have ever heard, but Joleon Lescott might return to Everton, the club he left under a cloud in 2009, on loan in January.

Lescott joined Manchester City in a deal worth a reported £24 million and up until this season has been a regular for Roberto Mancini’s side. However, he has fallen out of favour and is fuming after being dropped for Sunday’s trip to Chelsea.

Kolo Toure was selected ahead of Lescott on the bench at Stamford Bridge and Lescott isn’t happy with his situation at the Eithad. The England defender, who spent three years at Goodison Park, is now looking to move away in January either permanently or on loan.

With Everton set for central defensive changes in the New Year, David Moyes is thought to be interested in taking Lescott in a shock loan deal.

Our man in the know Barry Mayo reckons it’s a bit of a goer, but he had been on the loopy juice all weekend when he rang us with this latest whisper. Any potential move for Lescott probably wouldn’t go down too well with Evertonians after his protracted move to City, but who knows what can happen in football these days!

I feel sorry for him. He's good enough for most PL opposition.
He's probably not confident enough with his distribution for top CL opposition.
He's generally superb in the air.
It depends whether Bobby wants a long term stable CB partnership?
(I remember in the League cup game against Villa which we lost, he got taken off, although IMO he seemed one of our best players on that day. It was like he was a scapegoat.)

and then we would have to shell out numerous millions for a replacement, and most likely be ripped off completely in the process? this won't happen

I think opposite, Lescott to Everton would release Baines to the Rags, Moyes played Lescott at LB quite often

Why is it when a player doesn't appear for us for three or four games, the media start writing shit-stirring stories saying are going? Meanwhile, the rags are praised for the 'depth' of their squad?
We have had the same shit about Mario, Sinclair and now Lescott in the last week or two.

Not a chance, what if Nastasic gets injured in February? We have no back up!

We bought Nastasic as a back up to Lescott but proved he can do a job better than Lescott, why would we get rid of a center back when we only really have Kompany, Nastasic and Lescott who we can rely on especially in the big games.
