Running a Marathon ...

Cheers for all advice guys.
I tend to have a couple of black coffees in morning to ensure I get the poo out.
For the Blackpool run, I personally took a little water at every station, and had a couple of gels as well.
I went to toilet b4 start for pee.but still felt the need for another one after just a few miles.

I've got an half marathon in Wilmslow on the 19th March.

My furtherest run is 10 miles. This weekend I am planning to do 11 miles Saturday, then 12 miles Tuesday and then 13 Miles on the 4th March.

Do I try do a couple of 13 miles maybe 2 extra between the 4th until the 19th on race day along with my standard short and 10k runs?

Any tips would be great.

Thanks

I'd do a 13 (15 if able) 2 weeks out but not a long one the week before, prob do 8 miles to keep ticking over. Then the week of the half, keep it to short runs at steady pace and rest on the Saturday.
Wilmslow is a great race. Nice and flat. Did my half PB at wilmslow in blistering heat.
Someone always collapses there though and ends up in hospital or dying - think there have been 3 deaths in the last 3 years there.

I'd leave a week between long runs mate; you need recovery time. If these are long runs by your usual standards, then three days between won't do you any good.

Thanks for the advice. It is my longest run so going to pencil my next long one in for Saturday, I will try and get out and do a few shorter runs to keep myself ticking over.
