Running thread

I've been meaning to ask; what time do you go to bed? I struggle getting up and out for 7:30!
I try to be asleep around 10, six and a half hours sleep is loads for me, but everyone's different on that score.
Sounds mad but a freezing cold shower as soon as you get up works wonders, they take a good while to get used to but they sure do waken up the senses

I've read about the benefits of the cold shower first thing and thought about trying it out. I'm might think about it some more...

Well, it's definitely working for you. You've started the year really well!
I'll try the cold shower when it gets a bit warmer. Summer's a nightmare over here for running so I'll need to get into a good routine and get out early.

Im still slow as shit though!!!
Its the same as anything mate, once you get the ball rolling you want to keep it rolling, unless your raheem sterling.
Give the cold ones a whirl, even if you just build up to it by whacking on the cold at the end of a hot one, apparently 3+ minutes is best, infairness once you get over the initial whoosh of the senses it aint that bad

Return to running going ok.

Still struggling with full cardio even though I’m lifting/doing way more in the gym than pre me having covid.

Actually I’ll be joined a running club & the two track sessions I’ve had have been brilliant. Thought I’d hate them but it’s given me a real boost.

Potential over the next few months to get that sub 20min 5k (PB 20:50 currently clocking in 28 min park runs :( )

Funnily enough I’ve just started cold showers in January (a min at the end of a warm shower to start me off).

Sounds like your well on track mate, keep at the cold showers they definitely worth it.
I keep uming and arring about joining a running club, I see lots of folks get big improvements when they do, I kind of like my early morning runs too much though, if only there was a club that had their training at 4.30am.
