It looks your advice worked! You did great mate, huge kudos for keeping it going, but why on earth did you listen to my tips, @Stuuuuuu and @Tommy_Catons_Perm know far more about this kind of malarkey than I do!!
Crackin job today
Great time and pacing. Well done.@gaz76 I went with your strategy given the opening 5 miles - a couple of blips and had to dig in to keep the pace below 8:27. Target 1:50; previous PB 1:54; finished in 1:46:28. Absolutely nothing in the tank at the finish line. Splits below:
Laps
Lap Distance Time Pace GAP HR 1 1.00 mi 7:48 7:48 /mi 7:49 /mi 156 bpm 2 1.00 mi 7:53 7:53 /mi 7:54 /mi 161 bpm 3 1.00 mi 8:00 8:00 /mi 7:59 /mi 161 bpm 4 1.00 mi 8:01 8:01 /mi 8:00 /mi 161 bpm 5 1.00 mi 7:59 7:59 /mi 8:00 /mi 163 bpm 6 1.00 mi 8:19 8:19 /mi 8:16 /mi 162 bpm 7 1.00 mi 8:22 8:22 /mi 8:08 /mi 163 bpm 8 1.00 mi 8:14 8:14 /mi 8:06 /mi 164 bpm 9 1.00 mi 8:12 8:12 /mi 8:12 /mi 164 bpm 10 1.00 mi 8:14 8:14 /mi 8:12 /mi 165 bpm 11 1.00 mi 8:14 8:14 /mi 8:13 /mi 166 bpm 12 1.00 mi 8:04 8:04 /mi 8:14 /mi 167 bpm 13 1.00 mi 8:03 8:03 /mi 8:00 /mi 171 bpm 14 0.12 mi 59s 7:46 /mi 7:51 /mi 173 bpm
I was cursing you at the end! Felt pretty good for the most part and just hung in there from Mile 9 onwards knowing I was well ahead of pace. You did great mate, huge kudos for keeping it going, but why on earth did you listen to my tips, @Stuuuuuu and @Tommy_Catons_Perm know far more about this kind of malarkey than I do!!

Well done, mate - that's good pacing. I didn't do quite as well, suffered a bit from lack of training due to pulling a hamstring 3/4 weeks ago so only managed 1:51 but at least I finished, which was looking unlikely a week or two ago!@gaz76 I went with your strategy given the opening 5 miles - a couple of blips and had to dig in to keep the pace below 8:27. Ditto mate - anything sub 2 hrs is decent in my book. What did you think of the course?Well done, mate - that's good pacing. The quicker time is what you tell everyone ;-). Warrington HM yesterday was the same. My Garmin clocked a HM before I got to the official finish line.Did my 10k PB yesterday at the GMR a sub 55 min
GMR App says I ran in 54:02
Garmin/Strava are saying I did it in 53:48
Garmin stated i did it 14 secs earlier than GMR are suggesting, and also the course was finished before the finish line.
