Russia detects possible signal from "sun like star"

Scared of dying and the nothingness which follows.

Religion is evil, contrived for the feeble.

I don't agree with the feeble bit. Most people on the planet would be exposed to some form of supernatural woo woo as children. In the days before the advances in science this was understandable. They simply didn't have answers that could question ancient texts.

We do now. So for me looking at this knowledge and facts, now make me ask why did god get it all wrong? Why do all ancient faiths have a creationist start?

Because up until Darwin came along evolution was not understood.

So, we have untold millions refusing to believe in evolution because their books say Adam was created out of dust and Eve from a rib.

Others realise evolution as a fact but add on that god did that too.

No matter what science does to prove the lack of a divine creator, religious people will just say god done it.

They aren't so keen or vocal if you say.

Ok, who created god then? God?
God creates himself first then has a wee look about. I can do better he thinks. I will create the earth. I will have light before I create the sun he can do anything. I will create all the animals but not mention the dinosaurs.

Somebody made all that up.

Yes but even scientists get to a point where they cannot explain stuff and then revert to a possible divine existence.

The vast majority don't for the simple reason that this approach is unscientific. Because we don't know yet doesn't it shouldn't see us just saying, well god must have done it. That doesn't fit with the need to verify and check, to prove stuff.

I think that is the problem with reaching the limit of current knowledge.

It's called the god of the gaps. When we can't explain something we say god did it.

Over the last 200 years these god gaps have shrunk as science have shown natural explanations. In 200 years even more will go. But, I guarantee no matter if science was able to show conclusive verifiable proof that a god didn't exist many would still say they believed because they gave created a subconscious voice in their head that is god. He's monitoring them. Helping them. Fucking them up but they don't dwell on that, but even if they do, they have been conditioned to believe it's their fault for being bad.

Talk about a foolproof con?

It's like me selling you a telly that's fucked and then blaming you're sinful ways as the reason it went on fire and burned down your home.

And even worse. You believe that and thank me for pointing that out.

I only believe in what I can see and feel...but often wonder what is after the infinity of space.

I mean it has to end ...........I cannot grasp infinity...It's mind blowing.

As for made up God figures in the bible and other such man made books.....load of garbage

Well, thats me convinced. Solid 6th form common room rhetoric.
On behalf of all the feeble minded, I bow to your superior knowledge.........just as soon as you can prove half of it ......obviously you have done your own research and don't rely on the written word of others too much.

Again I never said you were feeble minded and pointed that out in another post.

However, 21st Century sixth year rhetoric is way in advance of Bronze Age mythology and ignorance.

You wouldn't get a sixth year saying the earth is at the centre if the universe would you?

Supernatural phenomenon is an extraordinary claim and as someone much brighter than me said

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. Religion has none. Not one piece. It has belief and faith. That's it.

Yup. But I absolutely refuse to believe that there's.....someone much brighter than you.
So tell me again, it all began with a big bang did it?..that's quite an extraordinary claim....or theory.
