the odds are so long that it is simply not possible for intelligent life to form......and yet here we are!
 
how does sound travels in space ????

many things are not right and i still don't think space is the end its got to be more and we could even be going around in circles and space could be just a bubble. the 1 thing that get's me is fire on earth and in space its impossible so why does the sun burn and other plannets are made of gas the 2 don't mix ?????

also the moon if there is little to non gravity how does the stuff we sent up there never move ????

some expert will be along for you soon but i'd say sound can't travel in space because its a void of nothing but waves can travel through space such as radio waves,there is gravity on the moon and the rovers we sent and the flag put up should still be there

but how can it cost so much for fuel to get to mars because if you were to fire a bullet in space it would just continue going at the same speed forever unless it bumped into something so the same applies for a spaceship once the initial thrust has been reached then that's it the engines can be shut down until it goes from point A to B so there would be no extra fuel cost traveling 1 mile or 1 light year

My Mrs has one. Apparently we needed it because it can go round corners easily without ruining the suction.

I tried explaining I had a bird back in the day when I had an XR3i that could do the same but she didn't seem impressed.

Sound doesn't travel in space buy radio waves are just a part of the electromagnetic spectrum (the same as light). Our eyes can see a very very small part of that spectrum. If we had super eyes, we would be able to see microwaves and radio waves right through to ultra violet.

Fire as you know it is impossible in space as it require oxygen to burn. The burning you see is matter rapidly oxidizing. The sun does not burn per se. It converts hydrogen atoms to helium atoms due to heat and pressure. The nuclear fusion reaction converts 1000 grams of helium into 993 grams of helium. The 7 grams per thousand that is 'lost' is radiated into space as heat and light energy.

Whilst that doesn't sound a lot, you have to remember that the sun 'burns' through enough hydrogen to reduce its mass by 4bn kilograms per second, this is why the sun shines. But it is not on fire.

There is plenty of gravity on the moon (we see the gravitation affect in the fact that we have tides on earth), but it is only about 17% of that on earth. As an example, if I took a set of scales on to the moon, I'd 'weigh' around 16kg. The reason why things don't just float off is the same reason why a 15kg dumbbell doesn't just float off on the surface of the earth (i.e. It's still fairly heavy).
 
Maybe there is life out there, and more advanced than us. However, they may be planets full of leaders with my view on life on other planets.....who cares? The discussion about inter-planetary travel would be thus.....
