Russian invasion of Ukraine

Trouble is NATO needed time to train them to fight effectively, and supply decent weapons, that time has been well used as we are seeing now, but without it, the russians just had overwhelming power.
I was thinking about NATO in general being scared of the USSR and then Russia, rather than just the two invasions of Ukraine.

If Hitler hadn’t gone east and focused on invading us they would have won the war. Russia literally bled them dry, so saying Russia didn’t save Europe is utter fucking bollocks. The Yanks, as usual, turned up 3 fucking years late and if it wasn’t for the Russians, we would have been handed our arse. They’re intention wasn’t to save Europe, it was to save themselves, then destroy Germany as a threat. In doing so they allowed us to regroup, the Yanks to get off their money making arse and out a shift in. We stalled in opening the second front to allow the Russians to be weakened so if any post war, war, broke out we could do them. The intention was not to save us, but the outcome of them breaking the Wehrmacht’s back certainly did.

Maybe going back and reading what actually happened, might be a first step before you make totally horseshit assertions. Those who say they did, intentionally or not, know what they are talking about.
Until Hitler invaded the Soviet Union, the Russians were part of the Axis. Any Pole would tell you that (Katyn forest).
The Russians' success was equally built on Studebaker trucks (prior to Kursk); British/American merchant navy convoys to Murmansk from mid-1941 onwards; Siberians and women.
The Americans turned up two years late (Sept 1939 to Dec. 1941) due to their Act of Neutrality. (They turned up late for WWI (3 years). They did put a shift in after that and Lend Lease was useful before they joined. (They did get their pound of flesh but hey their uber capitalists).
The Russians stood and watched during the Warsaw Uprising.
The Russians took control of half of Europe for 50 years.

It would appear that Putin's Russia either learns nothing from history or rinses and repeats.

No (US) trucks; weak logistics.
Invade a country and kill the intelligentsia.
Invade a country and transfer their population (especially children) to the four corners of the homeland.
Use the populations of the outer territories to do the fighting.
Uses commissars (Chechens) to keep the troops going forwards.
He is tempted to roll out the T34s.
His troops are as savage to non-combatants as they were in 1944/45 on the Road to Berlin.
