Russian invasion of Ukraine

Russians are desperate, even leaking a nuclear sub has diverted out to the Atlantic.

All the rhetoric and no bluffs left.
It's not unusual for one to be being tracked in the Atlantic, sometimes come down the North Sea and through Dover straights.

There's a Boeing Poseidon from the Norwegian Air Force currently operating over Northern Norway.

That's why they need to be declared as a terrorist regime, then any companies still doing business there will be hit by sanctions too.
It’s not companies we need to worry about it’s governments. One in particular, which should surprise nobody!

The UK government evaded sanctions it brought in itself, in support of Wagner overlord Yevgeny Prigozhin and allowed him to target British journalists in UK courts. He was also ‘allowed‘ £600,000 for ‘housekeeping expenses’.
The whole sorry tale is linked and has now been brought up in Parliament. Almost looks like Johnson et al have been playing both sides. This Government is very much like a fish and rotting from the head down very, very quickly.

A big win for the maddeningly opaque and complicated processes of Democracy and International Diplomacy.

Always remember: Countries don't have friends, only mutual interests.

And within any democratic body of politics, leaders have to deal with diverse viewpoints and interests, akin to herding cats. It's a wonder ANYTHING gets done.

It truly takes an evil retrograde A-1 asshole (political science term) like Putin to unite the likes of France and Germany and Italy and America and Finland and Estonia, Morocco, Spain, Denmark and South Korea, etc.

Thank you, you bare chested would be Czar.

The plot thickens. Not strictly about the war but about the political background to it.
The FBI Officer who was in charge of the investigation into Trump’s Russian connections has been arrested. He has been charged with accepting Money from a Russian oligarch and with Money Laundering. The oligarch is Oleg Deripaska, the aluminium baron. Remember him? On his yacht he wined and dined Senior Tory Cabinet ministers in Cameron’s government plus, of course, their labour shadows.

I feel very sorry for the Russian Army. A bunch of young lads forced to fight a war which is wrong and which most of them don't even believe in.

Unfortunately a hell of a lot of them dont have a choice, fight and get shot from the front, surrender and get shot from the back. The people I feel sorry for are the innocents in all this, not one single russian.
