So what's the alternative? Sacrifice Ukraine? Give in to Putin's demands? What then? Putin knows all he has to do is threaten nuclear war unless he is given Poland, the Baltics, east Germany.

No definitely not sacrifice Ukraine, if I had my way NATO would’ve been in months ago and and the war would be over now, but it has to be coupled with getting rid of the regime in Russia otherwise it’s just rinse and repeat, USA has to get a grip of China and see the folly of Putin, especially like others have said there could be famine in the way. If China put pressure on those at the top I’m sure Putin would be gone within weeks.

There the flip side to that too, the west buy most of there stuff from China.

Sanctions to the same level as we have applied to Russia would be epically painful all round. Not suggesting we wouldn’t do it but I can’t see it happening anywhere like as quickly as it did with Russia.

It needs USA and China to mend bridges tainted by Mr Trump blaming China for spying via Huawei infrastructure etc whilst cosying up to Russia.
