You don't fuck with the Ghurkas'. Whilst I was based in Hong Kong, a Ghurka who was being particularly badly treated by his Captain, got his revenge by putting a bomb in the guys desk. As he opens the drawer it triggered the bomb and the Captain died.

Our response to Putin shapes the next 50/100 years of Europe. It matters not a bit if he backs down tonight. The response stays the same as do the sanctions if not more and only his removal brings this to an end now.

Quite humbling watching ordinary Ukrainians with no military experience taking up arms against an invading army.

There was a young Ukrainian lad on earlier who was queuing up to give blood (long queues of people trying to up the blood stocks) and then was off to defend his neighbourhood.

One thing has become very clear in the last few days and that is the days of freeloading NATO members relying on the US, UK and France to be the countries that can actually do any fighting are over. When the head of the German Army goes on LinkedIn to essentially say that their army is a fucking joke then governments have to wake up and start to spend on their defence. Having a woke 'peace keeping' touchy feely organisation isn't the same as having combat ready armed forces.

No wonder Putin is laughing his bollocks off.
