Russian invasion of Ukraine

Do you think they were thinking Afghanistan? I mean if so they were half right in that the "allied" response has been feather duster but unlike the ANA the Ukrainian Forces are not gonna melt away
I've no idea to be honest, but when it gets to guerilla warfare in all those high rise blocks in Kyiv, then it's going to become a bloodbath, the russians in the streets, the citizens in every block with ammunition and advantage over those below.

They'll need to carpet bomb the place, and that won't go well with the russian people imho.

putin thought this was easy, he'll soon find out it's a terrible mess (hopefully).

which if you bear in mind Russian WW2 experience defending places like Stalingrad against the Germans makes the miscalculation all the more puzzling

They expected the Ukraine army just to lie down, a terrible misjudgement.

Even if Russia managed to take out half of the Ukrainian army and reserves before they break off into cells. You would still have enough for probably 50k 10 man cells all over Ukraine.

if the west can manage to feed them all weapons then it’s going to get extremely damaging for Russia.

hopefully this doenst then come back to bite the west like the Taliban did.
