A good point about the media coverage.
As an aside. Im trying to get the facts from the propaganda. Any help would be appreciated.
You can definitely enter the Olympics as an independent athlete.
We agree, the IOC should ban Russians and Belorussians, because in IOC events they represent their country. The clue is in the title International Olympic Committee
As far as I'm aware no individual has ever competed in any IOC event representing themselves.
Russian footballers playing for French clubs, Russian racing drivers driving a Mercedes and Russian tennis players roaming the world living out of a suitcase are a different kettle of fish, so different in fact, that as my dad used to say "it's bleedin obvious".
You've got instant access to 99.9% pure bullshit.I remember living under fear of nuclear attack but you’d just read something once a day or see something once a day.
I don’t think anyone knew the true extent of how close the world came during the Cuban Crisis.
Nowadays you’ve got instant access to every single development and it makes for more nervous reading.

I would like to believe this. But I am afraid they are far more afraid of Putin than the GOP hand-sitting enablers in my nation are of Trump. Better to be poor and live to fight another day than to try to protect your ill-gotten gains and be dead. It’s going to take a person just as brave as Mr. Z of Ukraine to stand up to Putin internally.Thats the whole point - people have said "sanctions take time" - however sanction them all - I mean the financial world is falling in on them. Oligarch's here will realise that sanctions don't hit tonight - splatting a convoy outside Kyiv does that - but you sanction them and the Oligarch who has a son at Eton and a daughter at Cheltenham Ladies College will find that he can't pay next years fees and the kids have to leave as the schools can't sanctions bust.
Many will have convoluted ways of owning/paying for their Knightsbridge home - if it involves transacting through UK banks then it can't be done if they are sanctioned.
Got a driver? Car? Private jet? Pilot? How is that paid for? If you are sanctioned you are going nowhere - I mean seriously getting on a London bus to go shopping could be barred as a result of sanctions as London Transport couldn't accept payment for your ticket.
These people are not fucking stupid - they can see the devastation down the line to the cozy lifestyle they have built up over the last 10-20 years and take those complaints to Putin en -masse then what does he do? They are the people who through the tough years have propped him up,
Let’s hope there are millions more where those already on the streets have come from!I would like to believe this. I can't say I have ever felt as uneasy as I do today, for the first time in my life I am genuinely concerned that this could end up in a nuclear conflict. I have this fear that this is going tits up for Putin and rather than suffer a humiliating withdrawal he may decide to go gung ho.
Just hoping that there are processes in place in Russia to stop this from happening.
Can anyone really get their head around going to work as normal today and then tonight the world being obliterated with thousands of nukes:(
Just fucking crazy - I have found myself thinking more and more about how easy this could escalate as Putin seems deranged when on TVHow fucking wild is it that many of us are just sat going about our day, while checking the internet every ten minutes for updates about a potentially world ending scenario kicking off? Ffs. No wonder I've had a permanent tension headache for a few days.
