Some may have joined the Germans at the time but it wasn’t a majority of units and I haven’t heard that mentioned at all in the last few weeks - I don’t think Russian soldiers now have that in mind nor the **** instructing them. Not as a sovereign country they didn’t but a lot of units did side with Germany and they did commit atrocities even killing ethnic Hungarians On the border. A lot of Ukrainian people that came over to n 1945 didn’t ever go back to there home country because of what happened during the war

The people who found themselves between the German Reich and the Soviet Union would always find succour and comfort in the regime that wasn't occupying them, and would naturally support that regime..Some may have joined the Germans at the time but it wasn’t a majority of units and I haven’t heard that mentioned at all in the last few weeks - I don’t think Russian soldiers now have that in mind nor the **** instructing them.
