Saúl Ñíguez

93:20 pod discussed this yesterday as well. I don't want to spoil it because you should really subscribe because it's great, but one tidbit they mentioned was that he's recently fired Jorge Mendes as his agent and replaced him with an agency called Stellar Group. Their list of players is, lets say, Premier League heavy. Would certainly lend some credence to the idea that he's looking for a move to England, whether with us or someone else.

@cjn Would make sense on the player's part, after Atletico either you go to your crosstown rivals (He's a lifelong rojiblanco, so unlikely) or Barcelona and after the player movements at Barcelona with FDJ it's an equally unlikely destination. Best place to increase exposure, win things and better wages? Premiership

Of course. If he's looking to move coming to England makes a ton of sense. He's probably on big wages at Atleti already and, like you said, Madrid and Barca aren't likely options. What's left is probably City/United/Chelsea, PSG, and Bayern (who have a bunch of other needs). It's not a big list.

Interesting - in particular as Chilwell is one of their clients too. As is Kieran Tierney.

Would certainly support the idea that this whole raft of recent rumours is a plant by Stellar as part of a campaign to generate interest in their clients.

Let's be honest - it wouldn't be the first time our name had been used to try and flush out interest in the weeks leading up to the transfer window.

Could be a good option to fill in at left back, whoscored.com says Saul has played there 6 times this season.

Saul has played a lot of fullback, and he's not bad there, which linking back to the 93:20 pod might might explain why they think a LB is off the cards. Mendy+Zinchenko+Saul would be more than enough cover.

Please please please make this happen. Have loved watching this guy in the last few yrs.
Brilliant player. Clever and versatile as well as great ball winner. And scores more than his fair share.
Ideal for us as successor to Fernandinho.
