safe standing permission granted

Very jealous!

Bad thing is with our tiny tiers at the Etihad it won't be a large enough area to do just behind the goal (especially with the away fans still being on Level 1 - which they shouldn't be). Ity'd still be a pitiful amount that we could get in.

You get an extra 8 people standing for every 10 sitting (apparently we take up more room standing than sitting!) So for every 1000 seats, you get 1800 standing

The safe standing area at Parkhead is now complete;

I'm understanding that each spectator will still have a seat number on their ticket but will be standing, which seems to be the whole reason it's called safe standing.
I'll be surprised if the reason behind the cause is to get more fans in the stadium, if I understand you correctly.

Are the red scousers unhappy about this?
Surely not. They all stand on the Kop each weekend. I've never seen their away fans sit down at the Etihad. Also, if they just look at that picture of Celtic's ground they'll understand how completely incomparable it is to the Leppings Lane end...

In most stadiums in Germany, it is unreserved standing.
When it is a European / international game then seats are given to specific fans.
When standing, and the seat is folded up, there are two rows per seat, the one where if seated, your arse would be over and the other where the feet would be. So two standing people can use the space of one person seated. This is how the price (in theory) should drop for standing because you now have 8 more people standing for every 10 that would be seated.

You ever been to a away game in England where fans are standing ??? There's no way you could get a extra 8 people confertabley on a row never mined for every 10 people
Even given seats don't sit locked away flush as it stands here, and they take up around 4/5 inches but you couldn't get two blokes safely of comfatabley in one seating area even if they was flush with the frame.
