He really didn't say that. He said he'd have to find out the political lay of the land with the FA and talk to him if it came to it, which is almost exactly what every manager says in this situation.
I don't think it's a good idea at all, and I don't think it will happen, but Allardyce's words were fine to me.

Sorry I was taking my info from the fifth choice bbc sports presenter this morning....and I was half asleep but, talkragshite are going with him playing as well with the bollock and the drink driver so must be rubbish.

How they can be the best paid managers in international football is beyond me.
The obsession that the manager has to be English is killing our game. I won't be watching the shit they serve up any more, having been sucked into returning for the Euros.

Yes, the BBC this morning did go off on one - I thought the same thing, then I saw what he'd said.
