So if Allardyce turns it down, Bruce is the favourite? My word.

I guess the positive is he can't give the rags 6 guaranteed points, and if he actually does well, he could be considered for the rag job after Mourinho's third season ends in chaos.

England after many campaigns do a root and branch inquest and decided to replicate the proven success model. However they appointed the wrong man.

Hodgson should have gone after the Brazil fiasco, just sacked after the game and that is that. Instead we let him stay and paid for the mistake, he did not know his best team and shoehorns a fading striker into positions where there are better options, purely because of status.

So we ditch the plan of become a Engspàna side and go for two managers who are old skool English football types. In a time when our league has a fast paced tempo fused with continental playing styles due to foreign managers and players. It is fucking embarrassing that suits are paid millions for the shambles they run.

Truth is we get bloated managers looking for a pay day, or we get a mid table level manager no fucker wants. We never get a top up and comer, we never have gone for a contraversial choice. Right now Bilic ahould be got, if not him then I think Howe is the man. Allegri ideally as he has experience at top level of club and country but can't see him leaving Juve now.

Just about spot on. We have all these decent players coached by the likes of Pochettino, Klopp, Koeman et al
and we give them to fucking Hodgson to coach.
 
It's a pointless exercise anyhow, no matter who we get. The whole system needs overhauling from grass roots level before we see any real change. Kids need to be taught to be comfortable on the ball and to value technique over kick and rush football. Imagine where we would be if Brian Clough had been England manager? Fact is, pretty much the entire footballing planet has moved on and left us behind and with each tournament that passes it's painfully obvious that unless deep changes are made the national team are just going to get worse.
 
There's not currently a better English manager than Big Sam, so it's the right decision.

Of course the manager should be English, the whole point of international football is about your country's best against another country's best.

Surprised Eddie Howe didn't even get a interview unless he didn't want it.

Anyway return to this thread in 4 years when we crash out of another tournament
