would be ideal to rotate with lescott.
or compete for place with him.

how much would he cost?

people will sniff at this idea because he is at an unfashionable club. just look at his attributes. power , strength, positioning, experience.

would be able to slip straight in if required.

may be not a long term solution, but i think a signing like this could help us win the league THIS YEAR.
 
He does look good there, but so did Rocky ......
I think Cahill could come at a lesser cost.
 
He was very impressive today, again.

Good win for Sunderland, and I for one am very happy to see Martin back managing in the PL.
 
How old is he? He looks ancient........................and hefty too, but seems to have what we need in defence - a bit of steel.

Surprisingly to me he's only 27 and wouldn't be a dodgy passport/birth certificate as he was born in France.

Didn't he sign a new contract recently as I'm pretty sure it was running out?
 
I'd love him as our third choice centre back, he's one of the best centre backs in the league, very suited to the Premiership. I don't think he'd go to a club where he wouldn't be playing every week though. He's the heartbeat of the Blackburn time, it's hard going from that to not getting regular games.
 
Why don't we take him and loan them our youngsters if possible ?

They can pick few players from the following: Vladimir,Suarez,Roman, Onuha,Bridge & Razak could be a useful to them.
 
he`s quick too, for a big man, looks like a winner to me too.

get him and stick him next to lesscot while yaya`s away and push vinny into midfield
