going to be working in Genoa for six months, and went out this week to sort things out.

I was taken back by how the people loved Mancini, as soon as i mentioned 'Manchester', they replied, 'mancini', and expressed so much love for him.

Also saw Fausto Salsano on the flight :) :)

Why surprised, the guy is an absolute legend to Samp fans! He has the same status as Colin Bell does among City fans, if not more so.

PS: You're a lucky sod working in Italy for 6 months!

Good luck and enjoy your time in the City of the Lantern. You will be able to catch a game each week at the ground althugh sadly Samp got relegated a couple of weeks back.
Mancini is a legend at Samp and has a tattoo of the club badge on his leg.

In the last fortnight both Guadiola and Mancini led teams to victory at Wembley.Almost 20 years ago they both played each other as captains (I think) in the CL final at Wembley between Samps and Barca..

Once again sincere good wishes

Attilo Lombardo played I think...I'll check it out on Wiki .Not too sure if Vialli played too...They were a team which bucked the stereotype Italian defensive team by playing on the frontfoot. Sven once said that he didnt need to coach the team on the training ground ...he left it to the born leader that was Mancini and his side kick Vialli

I'm over in Autumn for the Milan derby. A few of us come over and try and take in another game as well ...even if its a Seire B game. Last year we should have gone to Genoa V Atalanta but the snow put paid to that so we ended up going to Brescia v Crotone on the Saturday followed by the Milan derby on the Sunday..Year before we went to Torino as our "other" game which I really enjoyed.....PM me and maybes we can hook up in the Autumn

Remember seeing an article about Mancini on Football Italia & it showed him with a Sampdoria tattoo on his leg - club badge, the guy smoking a pipe - so I think the feeling is mutual.

Amazed no one has asked him when he is having a City one at a press conference!

Not quite, it was only Pep's first season in the first team, he was only late teens or early 20's and wasn't captain.
