Good luck and enjoy your time in the City of the Lantern. You will be able to catch a game each week at the ground althugh sadly Samp got relegated a couple of weeks back.
Mancini is a legend at Samp and has a tattoo of the club badge on his leg.

In the last fortnight both Guadiola and Mancini led teams to victory at Wembley.Almost 20 years ago they both played each other as captains (I think) in the CL final at Wembley between Samps and Barca..

Great video.. some unbelievable goals.. volley at 1.05 is insane. Monday nights RTE used to show Serie A highlights, back when there wasn't much football on telly.... Mancini and that Sampdoria team were burned into my memory at a young age.. class..

Good luck in Genoa mate, think you will need it! Only first impressions but I was there last October just before they had a riot at an International match and what a set of miserable money grabbing fuckers they were. It was also a horrible rainy,cold day when I went so perhaps that didn't help, 11 euros for two beers (equivalent of a pint and a half) and shit service at a bar next to the docks. Fair bit of history though, a lot of high ranking Nazi's were smuggled to South America from Germany aided by The Vatican nearly always through Genoa, worked for most of them until the Israeli's went after them in the 70's, history lesson ends.

Platt managed them too for around a month, but he could not sit on the bench as he was not qualified. They replaced him with the manager they sacked. He got a few draws thanks to Ortega wonder goals.

going to be working in Genoa for six months, and went out this week to sort things out.

I was taken back by how the people loved Mancini, as soon as i mentioned 'Manchester', they replied, 'mancini', and expressed so much love for him.

Also saw Fausto Salsano on the flight :) :)

Remember seeing an article about Mancini on Football Italia & it showed him with a Sampdoria tattoo on his leg - club badge,the guy smoking a pipe - so I think the feeling is mutual.

Amazed no one has asked him when he is having a City one at a press conference!

They have. He said he would get one if we won the Premiership this season.
