Sure, the Police could have handled things better, but as always these days.....people are looking to excuse law breakers.

If these clowns had done as they were requested instead of choosing to ignore the order, then the situation would not happened and the usual suspects would not be clammering to hammer the Old bill while simultaneously offering a bunch of arrogant cunts a free pass.

Protestors now on GMB interviewing about bad police behaviour, even complaining about a lack of toilets. Zero mention of the fact that they were breaking the law and wow guess what the Police's job was?

What next, interviews with burglars who get the rough stuff? Murderers who were tasered?

I swear the country has become completely deranged.

A lot of those 'involved' were hefty bearded men after a bit of bother. Not ideal for a peaceful gathering of women.

There's Only One City
And remembering it was a policeman that murdered a young woman having exposed himself in a McDonalds. From the same police force that refused to work with original organisers of last night to make sure it was safe. They’ve fucked this up royally.
Allegedly. Beware of breaking the law re contempt of court. The matter is sub judice.

Metropolitan Police Federation

Damned if we do. Damned if we don’t.
26 Metropolitan Police officers were assaulted – punched, kicked, spat at – on Saturday in Clapham policing Covid-19 lockdown laws that a democratically elected Government have imposed… laws that the Mayor of London has called on us to enforce to keep Londoners safe.
Now colleagues are being condemned by politicians of all parties - and the media - for doing what we have been asked to do by politicians on behalf of society.
This is not right or fair. Damned if we do. Damned if we don’t. Are we supposed to enforce Covid-19 Regulations or not?
Political leaders should be doing much more to support the police officers they have put in this impossible position.
The thoughts of the Metropolitan Police Federation remain with the family and friends of Sarah Everard.

Be nice if politicians (who make the laws) stood by the police instead of trying to be popular and in doing so leaving the cops hung out to dry. Cressida Dick needs to stand her ground regarding the policing of this protest, sorry vigil. It seems to have become perfectly acceptable to assault officers, abuse them; but god forbid somebody who refuses to comply with simple instructions is taken hold of..
