Like all crimes, murder, rape, terrorism, abuse of men and women (latter obviously by far the most prevalent), Racism and all other serious crimes no matter whatever measures are implemented these crimes will never cease.

There's criminals out there who are sent to jail when convicted, however there's a percentage of those who commit murder who are absolute psychopaths, prison does nothing to help rehabilitate some of these. Couzens and his ilk need terminating, I don't even think they would bother too much, not that they would have a choice.

I'm usually quite thick-skinned with things like this, but this case has really cut me. Still can't get my head round it. I keep thinking about how he made her believe she'd done something wrong; pure evil. Hope he's "accidentally" left in isolation with the prison heavies.

Thoughts go out to her family. And penny for the thoughts of the couple who drove past her, they'll have to live with that for the rest of their lives :(

No kaz, did people stop going to see a gp after Shipman? Or stop going to hospital especially with a baby after the nurse Beverkey Allitt murdered 6 children ?
There was also the nurse in Stockport murdering patients plus several others recently.
The answer is no, why some on here are now over reacting by saying it is now not safe to stop when a policeman tells you I don't know.
It was one police officer, it is horrific and I hope he dies a slow death in jail but the over reaction is crazy

So on the day this scum is jailed and we find out his fellow officers not only knew what he was like and nicknamed him the rapist turns out as well that several wrote character references in support for his lawyer to use in court in support if that would help him. Dick ( by name and nature ) called him a wrong 'un - suggesting she thinks he is the only one on her force - AND today a former Police Officer wins this

Whilst I agree with rehabilitation for most offenders, the crimes of some are so heinous that punishment is the only thing that their sentences should be about. He falls squarely into that category.
