I’m not aware of that stretch of river, is it just down from the ginger beer beat, or further down towards the organic watercress farm?

We've had salmon in the River Irk for years. Regulary used to catch wild salmon in that stretch that ran round Connolly's and ICI and out under Waterloo Road. Mind, yer had to have a peg on yer nose - the stink kept waving over me like a trip to Old Trafford.!

My favourite quick, cheap pasta dish:

garlic, chopped
four hot chillis (I put a few more in tbf) chopped
two tins of sardines in brine (Waitrose are the best by a country mile)
can of chopped tomato
squirt of tomato puree
Couple of tablespoons of capers

Amazing, and feeds a couple for about three quid.

sardines are lovely.

I was in Portugal last month and enjoyed fresh sardines for breakfast. I am not a big fish fan but the seafood on the Algarve is wonderful.
