Save Our Ruben Interim | Sacked (p76)

Interesting shout on Maresca. I’m assuming Willcox and Berrada know him from their City days.
I find this 'reflected glory' to be quite hilarious.

The reason we've won lots of trophies is that we've appointed really good managers and by and large our transfer business has been very good.

It hilarious that The Rag dick heads thought they we're stealing the 'special sauce' by appointing a couple of mid level staff in Wilcox and Berrada.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure they were doing a decent job - at their level... but the real top guys have something special. Jose was the last proper manager that they had and with hindsight his period there was pretty good in the face of our dominance. They didn't have the wisdom or patience to stick with him.

Scruffy Jim is running that shitshow like one of his Chemical businesses, he's fucking clueless when it comes to sport and his track record wherever he's been in charge backs this up.

Long may the farce continue...

In a way, you've got to feel sorry for Interim. Is it not the manager's job to pick the team and decide on the tactics, however wrong they may be? It should be the sporting director's main gig to deal with transfers (and player contracts)? I can imagine Pep's reaction if Hugo told him what players and tactics to use!

I actually liked him. Too good for them cunts.
Likewise. But for me the die was cast when they went to him mid-season and he originally told them he wanted to wait until the end of the season before taking the job. They said "take it now or fuck-off" so he backed down. "You don't say no to Manchester United" he said. Big mistake.

Once again, the lackadaisical approach of a disappointingly large section of you lot on here has cost us.
Totally agree Jim
Far too many posts criticising Ruben in this save him thread.
You know who you lot are. Take a long look in the mirror.
Terrible news he's been sacked far to soon. I was hoping he could spend another few 100's of million before getting sacked.

£9m to hire and (according to Sly Sports) £12m to fire. Sure some of his staff will also get paid off and, dependant on next clown maybe more recruitment costs. Nice offset against the Scruffy ones staff cull savings. The circus that never closes. Still keeps them top of the clicks for 6 months I suppose.
