Look forward to this thread being dragged up in a few years for us all to laugh at.
I agree. He also gets caught out sometimes because he tries to play the ball out. He has much to learn but is a level of skill above the likes of Boyata.
We play possession football where there is an interchange of positions and everyone needs to be comfortable on the ball. No reason why Savic cannot come good. Too may preconceived ideas here about his role. If Mancini was not happy he wouldn't play him. Last season he was thrust into the deep end, mainly with Kolo who would not have been the preferred partner in a back four. Savic is more suited to a back three because of his mobility and where he has experienced cover around him.
Older City fans will remember Ian Bowyer who debuted for us in 1970 during our successful Mercer/Allison period. The boo boys decided he was not good enough to play for us but eventually he did more than ok with Forest under Clough as a key member of their Champions League winning side.
More recently, Diego Forlan has done well well after being branded a flop at the rags.
