So you know exactly who the club was targeting? If you do i think you should let us know, because all I have read was speculation

No I don't know who exactly, nor do you.

If you think Sinclair was one of the top names which Mancini handed over to the powers that be in their meetings than you go ahead and think that.

I don't know and neither do you, so stop posting things like they are facts, we will never know, we can speculate of course, and we can discuss the merit of various players, but some of the vitriol against Sinclair in this thread has shocked and saddened me, I thought City fans had far more class than that, I thought they would at least give the lad a chance, but he has been condemned before he has even kicked a ball in anger.

Although I would always want a player to do well when they come to us I have a little extra for Sinclair as I would love to ram some of the cod shit they have said about him down their throats

Before the window I think most blues agreed that we needed cover at center half and an attacking midfielder. If thats what we get plus Rodwell it's been a decent transfer window IMO.
Not for some, they want the club to spunk £100 millione every window and have 25 world calss players in the squad, its the era of the spoilt mard arse fan.

Who has said they want £100m spent every window?

I hope Sinclair does well, but you're kidding yourself if you think Sinclair was one of the top names we set out to sign at the beginning of the transfer window.

You mean like when we signed Kompany and Zab?

Different manager yes but did you expect them to be where they are now?

I think that City fans in general have an awful lot of class. I just think that this forum isn't representative of your average Blue, match going or not. Either that or a vocal minority just make it feel that way.

Yes!
Thank fuck for the window closing tomorrow. I hate having to venture in here to see if there is any news. Wankers everywhere. Makes the Cellar seem a lovely grown up place.

this forum, especially the transfer forum does not represent your average city fan

Haven't posted things as facts. I actually posed them as questions.

Vitriol? Slight hyperbole there. I have however seen people question if Sinclair is good enough to play for the champions.

If the rags bought him the majority of people here would be laughing that they now have to go after mediocre players, just like what happened when they got Ashley Young etc.

Just because he signs for us doesn't mean people have to be overly happy about it.

Call me ungrateful, flapper, etc, but I thought we would be after a better caliber of player to push on now we're champions (no that doesn't mean I wanted £100m player or whatever).

Yes and it's not those questioning the club.

People post concerns or questions and others descend like flies calling people flappers, kids, negative, spoilt, etc, etc.

Don't recall any vitriol when we signed AJ, yet he was a similar price and less experienced and most seem unhappy that he has gone.

Whether Sinclair was first or last choice, he is about to become a City player, so I hope in ten years time we're looking back and thinking what a great signing at a bargain price. We'll only know how he fits in and what he brings to the team once he's here, so how about giving him some time. I only hope he hasn't looked in here to see what people think.

I think if we had signed a big star, such as De Rossi for example, then everyone would be happy about the signing. However because we have failed to land a super star all other signings are seen as inferior.

I guarantee that if we now buy a big name you will see several of the follow comments "superstar, Nastasic, Rodwell and Sinclair - happy with that"

Regardless if we sign a superstar or not the quality of signings this window have been abysmal and don't appear to have strengthened the team in comparison to others around us

If we sign Nasastic, Rodwell and Sinclair I would say that was decent - not amazing but decent. I see where you are coming from but whilst you could argue we havent strengthened we have covered all areas we required to buy in and lowered the average age and probably wage (if De Jong goes). We also hopefully have Tevez hopefully for a full year so I do believe we will be in better shape.

Wouldn't say abysmal, I'd say of a lower quality.

We still haven't rectified CM in my opinion. Rodwell looks good, and I've been impressed with him, but a Di Rossi type player is needed alongside Yaya if we are to be a top, top team.

Abysmal?
Underwhelming,I suppose compared to van Persie, hazard etc.

Some people on this thread are right stroppy little kids!!

Messi and Ronaldo aren't coming get over it and cheer on those who do come!

I hope the likes of Rodwell and Sinclair become great for us but I can guarantee inside their first few games they won't perform and won't be like Messi or De Rossi but I can guarantee these people spitting their dummies out will create countless amount of threads about them having a bad game.

They're young and English and have years ahead of themselves to mould into our squad so stop embarrassing our fan base by crying about not signing a "big name" player, honestly get a grip!!

I'll give you that as its a fair assessment of my posts. But I would be positive if there was something for me to get stuck into, I just don't see it
