Scott Sinclair is aware that 'intense' competition for places at Manchester City will limit his game time this season.

The summer signing from Swansea City is, however, prepared to be patient and battle his way into Roberto Mancini's plans.

Sinclair linked up with the Blues in order to challenge for top honours and has no regrets regarding his decision.

He is confident he can earn a regular role and is pleased with the progress he has made to this point.

"I don't know how often I'll play because competition for places is intense," said Sinclair.

"I made my debut against Stoke and then played against Arsenal and Aston Villa. All I can do now is concentrate on the next game and give 100 per cent.

"I'm just looking forward to playing in any games. All I can do is try to make an impact when the opportunity arises."

He added: "I'll aim to improve off all the world-class players here. Everyone will be rotated, so it's down to the manager's choice.

"I'll just work hard and try and get the nod again."

I don’t really know much about this lad to be fair but will he be given a chance?? Why pay 6.2 million and put him with the EDS lads?? Has he been injured? I have heard people say he is not playing because he is shit but he does deserve some playing time to stack his claim in the team.. Mancini must like him and I just don’t get why you would leave Swansea where you’re playing first team football!!

His attitude seems good and I really do think we need a winger on the pitch

Any thoughts??

That was a signing I did not see coming. Sure, a player with his attributes was what we really needed, but I thought we would go for a bit more quality, good enough to become a regular starter.

From what i have seen, i quite like him...

Excellent attitude, professional ,good work rate, two footed and is quite quick..

In fact everything Johnno didnt have..

Scott Sinclair won't be in any real rush to leave City, even if he doesn't get much game time ..... not with the wage increase , and Rosie and her family livin' in the area!

He appeared a strange signing by Mancini ..... a direct , and possibly inferior , replacement for a player who'd hardly played!!

Been a while since we've had a winger with pace. A bit worrisome that he's had so many clubs without really making it. Has potential but obviously something is holding him back but if he turns out to be anything like Walcott I'll be more than happy.

He comes across as a pretty humble lad with a positive attitude. I hope he takes his chances when given.

It's unnatural that a new signing plays so little, especially one who fills a role no one else really does at the club. I mean Mancini didn't rate Johnson that highly but he regularly appeared in some way or another. With Sinclair, he isn't even being given "impact sub" appearances with 15 minutes to go. To me it gives the impression of this signing, like Owen Hargreaves and possibly certain others, being forced on Mancini by a certain Englishman who has been relocated within the club. If true I feel bad for Sinclair as he's very likeable and really hope he is given a chance to impress soon. But I also have a feeling that he could be at the club for the same amount of time Berti was, especially as John Guidetti will be eligible to be registered in a homegrown slot next season (and the Sinclair signing like Rodwell may have been made with said homegrown quota in mind).
