Yep, the Old Firm is more bitter than our Derby, but if the Rags had the entire South Stand and came on the pitch, they’d be met with the same thing I’d expect.

Think in a derby of any kind it would happen :( fooking sad that one of the biggest derbys out there will be turned into a no away zone again ..........

Makes you wonder if this OTT violence is a reflection of the ills of society right now, it is bad at times but this was shocking wasn't it?

And then the Rangers cunts act like cunts
I'm in no way condoning or excusing that behaviour - but the Celtic penalty taker really needs to understand what's going on.
What was he thinking dancing along in front of the Rangers supporters, go celebrate with your own supporters rather than throwing petrol on a combustible situation.
Anyway back to no away support in Old Firm games - and rightly so after that

A few years ago, one of the joining gates between the home and away fans at the Etihad was open and after minutes of both sets of fans giving shit to each other, one lad tried the gate and it opened and fighting ensued.

There was even some little geeky teenager who ran on the pitch to confront Ferdinand after that game when Van Persie scored a winner late on.

Would happen at most derbies. It’s what derby hatred brings and in a perverse way is part of the beauty of football rivalries. Just needs better policing and organisation. Banning away fans isn’t the answer, all it does it create heightened tension and overexcitement when the ban is lifted or days like today in Cup games see large away followings.

When we got promoted after three years out of the top division and had our first derby against United for years in 2000-01, there was fighting everywhere outside the ground that day, even going on in China Town until the early hours of the morning twelve hours later. It’s like both sets of fans had been starved of the rivalry and couldn’t contain themselves.

It's just stupidity mate, honestly , especially with the history of the fixture and how people from certain sections seem desperate to get the large number of away fans back in. Fans shouldn't be in the pitch, full stop, and certainly not in a heated derby. This isn't rugby, fans aren't going to let their rivals come onto their own pitch, celebrate, take selfies, goad home fans etc. Just use your brain, you've won a big game, celebrate in the stands, the players will come over to you anyway, then head back to the pub and celebrate with your own.

Yep. Not dissimilar to the Vinicius incident at Benfica. Now, before I get jumped on from a great height, let me make perfectly clear that nothing excuses the racism that he seems to have been subjected to from Prestianni that evening. Repeat for the hard of hearing; NOTHING. From memory, after he scored, didn't he go over and dance at a corner flag in front of the home fans. Sometimes you just have to use your brain in such a situation, whatever the provocation. Go and celebrate with your team mates and with your fans, if the geography of the stadium allows. Doing what he did, or what the Celtic player did today, is not clever. Effectively goading opposition fans is, as you said throwing petrol on a fire.

When Cantona kicked that Palace fan years back, it ended up on a road leading to a Palace fan being killed by Rags at the FA Cup semifinal four months later.

I take it if the ball deflects off your foot it cannot be a penalty is not a rule anymore
Thistle score game on.

Most derbies in England are pretty tame compared to that
half and half scarves galore, fans wanting selfies and autogpraphs off opposition players. Its far too sanitized.
I sat in the home end at Old Trafford a few years ago and cheered City goals, there was a City fan behind me doing likewise. Can't imagine that in Glasgow.

Hopefully more of you will be looking to HMFC to win or split these 2 horrible neanderthal bigots for the league title.
2 hours of vile sectarian singing then the aftermath is a stain that the Scottish football and political bosses try to sweep under the carpet.

All the commentators mention the great atmosphere when all it is,is bigoted shite.
Simply the best is an bigoted embarrassment played over the tannoy when the players enter the park.
They should be ashamed by this.

Can say what you want about ‘the rivalry’ etc etc, but yet another completely embarrassing day for Scottish football.

Imagine if they had some muslim players who dared to break their religious beliefs while the milky white and ginger nasty backwards separate god worshipping twats fought eachother over who was more godly

Rangers should let you run up a cricket score at Tynecastle to keep the title away from the Palestine pitch invaders

I'm not saying it excuses what happened, but would it not have been wiser for the police and stewards to have formed their lines in front of the stands whilst the penalties were taking place instead of after the fans had started going on the pitch? It was surely obvious something was going to happen and how many times have we seen lines formed in front of the stands, but not in this particular game

Micky mouse league yep two of the biggest clubs in Europe but who actually watched iit! Wasn’t even interested in there cup game! They’ll be down to 1 champs league spot next now and can only see that league ending up pretty irrelevant in 20 years!
