I dont usually do any scout reports after the release of Football Manager as you get people accusing you of getting the player from the game, the usual remarks. Well feel free to check this players profile, cos he isn't that good on the game...
...but in real life he is an absolute gem.
Jairo Samperio
Jairo is an 18 year old attacking midfielder and winger who has hit the ground running for his club Racing Santander. He has been involved in 15 competitive matches for Racing this season, starting 7 of those games. He has scored once and assisted once for a club that is fighting against relegation.
Jairo is very much a creative player, but tries to keep everything basic with his passing, something that he does very well from a more central attacking position, but when playing out wide he has the confidence to try and go past the defender.
He has been hit by injury this season, which i thought might set him back, but Cuper, the Racing coach has great belief in the player and a fortnight ago it was easy to see why.
Jairo came off the bench against Valencia with 5 minutes left to go in the game, 2 minutes later he finds himself with the ball on the left flank, he allows the ball to roll towards the touchline and steps in front of the ball while allowing it to roll between his legs, it looked like the ball would go for a goal kick, yet not only did the lad keep the ball in, he supplied a great cross into the box for Bernardo to smash home with a strong header.
Cuper seems to have given Jairo a roaming roll when he plays him allowing the player to come off his flank and come into a more central role so the team can benefit from his creativity, his ability to use both feet, and Jairo also has a decent shot on him too. Out wide his pace and tricks and what seems to be a natural ability to get a good cross delivered into the box gives this kid all the attributes alot of young attacking players can only dream about.
If i had to compare him to a player, i'd say he is in the mould of Isco or Canales when they both came onto the scene. There is so much more to come from this kid and one thing is for sure, with or without Racing next season he will be playing top flight football.
As always, enjoy the vids. (After checking youtube, there doesn't seem to be alot of footage on the kid and the 2 vids are all i could find)
