Looks likely!
1. FA Cup Loss is the beginning of 'meltdown'. Seven United players was to be be scuppered for the City-United Carling Cup match.? Fergie's football model of having young starlets and moulding them to be a force to be reckoned with ala Arsenal will not worked. Why? Still retaining aging 'stars' like Neville, Scholes, Giggs et al in the mix. In order to emulate Arsenal. l'Professer business and football models is based on selling its star players at the opportune time and does not include aging stars in the squad.
2. A Tell is when Fergie has no clue to the status of Vidic when asked why he was a no show at the FA cup game. Thats when that business cum football cognoscenti (such as Robert Peston) realized that Fergie has lost his plot.

Vidic stock has gone down in valuation as his saga continue. Is it because of his physical and mental state or the financial plight of United's owner. Either ways it looks more and more likely, as someone pointed out, like the theory by economist Akerlof 'The Market for Lemons' seems more applicable for United's problems.

Re: SCUMs' bubble about to be Burst?

You know what they say. Scums and suds will float to the top of the toxic sludge/sewage/swamp but their bubble will burst come light of day..

HaHa

Re: SCUMs' bubble about to be Burst?

Before the Glazers arrived in 2005, nobody could have foreseen this bizarre reversal in Manchester. United, then the world's richest club, are lurching into the new decade with punishing debts, while City, of all clubs, are being roundly criticised after the sacking of their manager for being too ruthless, driven and improbably rich

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/david-conn-inside-sport-blog/2010/jan/06/manchester-united-glazers-debt" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/david-c ... azers-debt</a>

Duncan Drasdo, chair of the Manchester United Supporters Trust, said this week: "We warned from the beginning that the Glazer takeover would saddle the club with huge debts and now we can see them biting. If it were a race, then United are dragging their owners behind them like a tractor, while City's owners are providing rocket fuel."

Is Fergie losing it?
He insisted that his second-placed side's experience and strength in depth make them "better placed than most teams" and that their challengers "all know that and they always have to look at Manchester United – there's no getting away from that".
Yes to Leeds United? Theres a BIG DISCONNECT!

4. However if the status quo remains, they may have to sell Rooney too to service their interest payments etc. Hence the continual road to descent to mediocrity because United cannot continue to spend. The chickens have come home to ROOst.

Concur by?

It is an issue of whether this is a team in decline, and whether the money is there to prevent the downward trajectory. The only logical conclusion is that yes it is, and no there is not.

Fucking hell - if that snivelling little rag shitbag Daniel Taylor is saying they've got problems, then they really have got problems!

Manchester United's decline is not yet a fall but alarm bells are ringing blogged Daniel Taylor

hence the revised thread caption.

....Neville increasingly looks like a champion boxer who has had one too many fights and, if that does not strike you as an original line, it is because it is not. It was first used three years ago.

HaHa Neville has been a punch drunk for the last 3 years. His bell has been rung one too many! HaHa
