City will play Shrewsbury at home in round 2 of the Leasing.com Trophy.

    Good luck lads!

We play every game in that comp away from home.

Wasn’t that an FA/EFL directive rather than us choosing to play away?

Think the idea is to give lads experience playing at league 1 and 2 grounds and sample the ‘atmosphere’. We’ve been to all 3 group games this season and the games have been attended by maybe 1500-2000 spectators. Disappointingly, they’ve all been played on nights when the first team have been playing which has meant not many City fans have attended. The best atmosphere we’ve seen at these games was last season’s last 16 tie against Rochdale, where there were probably 500 or so City fans and we won 4-2 after being 2-0 down. Anyway, we’ll be going to Shrewsbury in a couple of weeks.

I thought the same but don't think that's the case as Brighton and Leicester both appear to be playing the next round at home.

The B teams playing away is only for the group games.

All U21 teams play away even if they was drawn out of the hat first.
