Right - When I type in a query, be it on Yahoo, Ask, Google etc. If I don't press the search button twice, which ever link I click on, my computer tries to take me on to another page (though Chrome blocks it and says "400 bad request"), the address where I am being re-directed is usually along the lines of:

<a class="postlink" href="http://advanced-media.in/jVi3MPJX8E7qCNS67b0027f16de454890f70784d296a003936k" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://advanced-media.in/jVi3MPJX8E7qCN ... 96a003936k</a>?

I have run malwarebytes (and avast) and nothing shows up and it is the same whether I use Firefox, IE or Chrome.

Any ideas? It has been doing it for weeks now on one laptop but my other is fine (but at work).

If I run the search twice though, then the links work and take me to the correct site.

first of all, check in your internet options to see if someone or something has changed your homepage.
go to superantispyware.com and download the free version.
when that installs it gives you the option to change/and/or protect your homepage.
this antispyware can find some things that malwarebytes misses.
good luck.
