Just to clarify..if you're on Direct Debit do you have to do anything at all?!

I've heard it automatically renews?

From the OS ...

AUTO-RENEWALS FOR 2014/15

If you opted to pay for your 2013/14 Seasoncard by Direct Debit, you agreed to an automatic renewal process for Season 2014/15. This means that your Seasoncard renewal will be taken care of. No hassle. No fees. You will receive a letter confirming all of your Seasoncard and Direct Debit details, along with a copy of this year’s brochure soon. Your Seasoncard will automatically renew on or just after the 28th May* 2014, at which point you will receive a confirmation email. If you would like to renew your Seasoncard sooner, simply go online at www.mcfc.co.uk/tickets, call 0161 444 1894 (option 1)** or visit us in person at the Stadium Ticket Office located at the Etihad Stadium.Should you wish to make any changes to your Seasoncard, amend any of your extras or change bank details, you must renew using one of the above sales channels before 27th May 2014 and re-enter your Direct Debit details.
