A neighbour has an OAP Season Card and wants to lend it to his 20 year old nephew for the Villa game as he will be on holiday.
He says a light flashes when he goes through the trunstile to indicate he has an OAP card.
Does the same type of light go on for 16 to 20 year olds, who he thinks are in the same price band as OAP's or will the stewards nab him?
Basically will the nephew get in on an OAP's card or will he need to disguise himesllf as on old man?

A guy who sits next to me got in for two years on a kid's season card.... i dont think you will have any problem's

Officially you are supposed to 'upgrade' the ticket but City's ticket office can make a real hash of that - even causing the ticket not to work at all! I speak from experience.

If I were your nephew I'd chance it and if he's questioned he should just claim he did upgrade it.

They have changed the system and upgrades are issued via a paper ticket. I don't know if it's to do with managing it at the turnstile as there is now no argument if an upgrade had been done or not.

I might be wrong here, but I am sure there are only 2 lights on the back of each turnstile one for adult season ticket and one for conssesions, so if he is 20 shouldn't have a problem

Interesting, didn't know that, the lad is away at Uni, so last year upgraded his card quite a few times and intended to do so again this year.
Thanks for the info.

It is best to upgrade, they are very helpful at the ticket office and it is better than having them take the card from the nephew. I have upgraded a few times when I have gone on holiday and lent my card to someone else.
