2009/10 Seasoncard news 10/02/2009 06:00

Renewal dates for Manchester City Seasoncards for the 2009/10 season have been deferred by three months to help ease financial pressure on fans in the early part of the year.

Prices in all non-corporate areas of the City of Manchester Stadium have been frozen for the coming season (a VAT reduction of 2.5% will be applied to these tickets), and the majority of Seasoncard holders are due to benefit from discounts ranging from small to significant dependent on age and seat location.
Renewing adult Seasoncard holders are due to benefit from an average 7% reduction on last year’s prices, and further reductions will be applied to the youth market - 16 to 21 year olds who will receive an average 17% cut in their Seasoncards. This follows on from the success of the Club’s pioneering Live4City Under 16s Seasoncard which remains at a very competitive £95.

Fans have previously received their renewal packs in the first two months of the year, but Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak is keen to alleviate the burden of payment so soon after Christmas, saying:

“Our Seasoncard holders are the cornerstone of this Club and, since our arriving at the Club, we have listened to their feedback and their concerns on a great range of issues.

“By pushing back the date for Seasoncard renewals we hope to make some small difference to the supporters who follow the team every week. We have also sought to respond to fans' concerns on pricing and hope that the price freezes in some areas and discounts in most areas of the ground will be welcomed.”

This is the first time that reductions to adult Seasoncard prices have ever been applied at Manchester City. Existing Seasoncard holders will have an exclusive booking period in which to reserve their current seat. After that date, seat relocation requests will be considered before any remaining seasonal places are made available to new customers.

The Club has also responded to fans' requests that the renewal process be made more simple. As a consequence of this, renewal packs, which will be mailed in early May, will contain a CD guide to assist in online applications. Supporters should ensure their personal details, including postal and email addresses, are up to date by visiting the My Account section of the ticketing site www.mcfc.co.uk/ticket ahead of the mailing date for renewal packs.

Telephone and in-person renewals will still be taken for those without internet access.

At this moment, targeting peoples pockets is our only incentive.

THE CLUB HAVE ALREADY DONE THIS!!!

Prices have been cut (or at least slashed for next season) and with the new influx of players expected I'd be astounded if ST's don't sell out.

So it's pointless evryone posting these figures about how many ST's would be sold if tickets were £300 or whatever

But no prices have been announced. Just that they will drop by an average of 17%

.....and

Its not clear whether the "average" 17% cut is for the end of the price reduction period (last July), or the begining (last March), so in effect nobody has a clue what the price is.

Exactly nobody knows what the prices are.
