Season Ticket Pricing as a result of Stadium Expansion

Moomba, we were informed four seasons ago that EL2 was becoming corporate and there were going to be huge price increases, that's why I moved
I am surprised at how long it's taken the club to do it, but that's because it had to sort out the extra seating on the new tiers

As a matter of interest, when did you re-locate to EL2?

There have already been pretty hefty price rises, I reckon I'm paying at least £200 more than I was two years ago. I'm just on the edge (three seats away from non padded) and was hoping that it wouldnt extend that far.

Think I've been in my current place around 5/6 years. Have tried level 3 but it's no good. Pretty sure L3 can't get to L1 either. It's straight down the spirals and out the door.

It was quite obvious though that it was going to be a huge price increase, double or even more. You must have received the letter, it was from Garry Cooke
I tried to meet someone on L3 the other week and was told I couldn't, but the steward said they could come down to L1 (I take it they meant by either an internal stairway or the lift) The reason is that the L3 concourse is much smaller

There WAS a letter a few years ago advising of significant price rises in our block and what they were expected to be. Fair enough because it gave people the chance to move or bite the bullet. But those increases were supposed to be over two years with the second of them this season. It's now £800 for platinum where I sit and I have no complaint, I (and me mates) bit the bullet and knew (or thought we knew) what it would cost. But the news now that they are going up another four hundred is a staggering bolt from the blue. It is on top of what we were warned about and budgetted for. This time we will move and hope we can sit together somewhere. I can't agree that the letter from Garry Cooke warned of increases of this magnitude from 2015. It warned of the increases up to the present.

My seat was in 205 as close to the corporate as you could get
The letter told of price increases and also said the closer to the middle the higher the price would be
I knew then what was coming, especially when surveys were about asking about free programs, upgraded bars and concourse
You didn't have to be Sherlock Holmes to work it out
As I said, I'm just surprised at how long it's taken

Could be we're talking about two letters PP. It's academic now but I'm sure the letter i'm talking about quoted percentages over a two season period that ended this season. Maybe there was a later letter and that's what you made your decision on. Anyway, you judged it better. The prevailing "wisdom" around where I sit (204)has been that £800 platinum was the most they could get in East Stand. They might be right - they will certainly raise the prices but the present incumbents will mostly shift and it remains to be seen what the take up will be on £1150 - £1500 season tickets.

The letter(s) may also pre-date people being located out of the North Stand to make way for the family stand. I certainly can't recall getting any letter telling me about intended massive price hikes. However, as plans for the stadium expansion emerged then it was clear that the Club would try to price out fans in Level 2 along the sides of the pitch.

Whatever, the letters from a number of years ago said they wee superseded by the atrocious Forever Blue idea. I get the feeling that the price hikes in Level are in part a reaction to our marketing gurus being told where to go with F.B. "Financial Fair Play" is also a driver as we know but pricing a few thousand fans out of their seats won't offset the vost of cock ups in the transfer market like the unfortunate Scott Sinclair.

For everyone's information, take a look at these old threads from 2010
According to one of my posts in the first thread, a season card in EL2 was £550 for the 2010/2011 season

The "premier" experience in EL2 envisaged padded seats, better catering, free online programme, and maybe a deal on car parking. We got the price hike but only the padded seats made it much better. I'll be conducting an unscientific survey with neighbours in our EL2 block next Saturday as I really don't believe people will stump up another 50% for "club" facilities most will not use. If the club thinks all the people on the waiting list will pay £1150 they are deluded - and as existing level 2 s.t. holders get priority for relocation away from level 2, that may be all that's left! Put it this way - has anyone near the back of level 1 got 4 seats together to swap with ours on EL2?

Are all the Level 2 seats under threat?

I sit in 212 which is in the corner between the a big screen and the Sky commentary box. Will I have to pay over a grand for my seat?

Apparently not because as of 17.50pm today, it would appear the club are experimenting with the idea of inviting any fans in those said corner areas that have a modicum of football awareness and positional sense to take part in a scheme that will see those chosen given a 2 way radio to that idiot Hart in an attempt to offer advice on when and when not to insanely run out of his area.

Those selected, and it could be you will be offered you current seat for just £300 and you will get a years supply of Head and Shoulders courtesy of headless chicken Joe Hart!
