Season Ticket Renewals - small increases (again)

Very disappointing to see an article on the MEN that the price increase has been backed by the 1894 group. They’re supposed to be the voice of the fans, that is the polar opposite to the views of most fans. The club will see something like that, they will think fans are happy enough with the increase and so they push it a little bit higher still the season after next. They’ll lose a lot of support and credibility amongst other fans for that.

Nobody at the club cares about you, mate. Stop sticking up for them. They care about your wallet and nothing else. Swear there are some fans on this forum who’d thank the club for a slap on the face upon entering the stadium before every home game. “Well I’d take a slap in the face to watch the best team in the country!”

If the club keep taking the piss like this there eventually comes a point where they charge over the odds and nobody has the ability to stop them.

Close but no potato with the “rising costs” point. TV money is the highest it’s ever been, we’ve just announced yet another sponsor, we’re the richest club in the world, we unnecessarily own about six other football teams around the world. This price rise is going to amount to a drop in the ocean when it comes to our overall financial outlook and it’s utterly pointless.

You’ve revealed your true colours by saying you’re happy to pay extra. You can afford it so nobody else matters. I see how it is.

Yep. Not even the price of a pint a month. Quite happy with that to see the best football I have seen in 64 years of following this club. Long may the not care.

An interesting one. This year I think the two clubs got 17000.Knock off 3000 for club sponsors, staff and players would mean about 14000. Don’t know how many are on the cup scheme but looks like it could be tight.
For the domestic cups being on the scheme always works.
Given the final is in Istanbul you would easily be looking at over a grand to get to the final and ticket. Doubt we have anywhere near 17,000 fans who could afford that.

They have came out on twitter to deny that and say they support price freezes. Looks like their words have been twisted slightly.

Oh cut it with the implied “bigger blue” shit and actually respond to my points. You’ve been following the club for 64 years, I’ve been following them for 20 years. Someone who’s been following the club for 35 years has probably been priced out this morning, someone who’s followed the club for 10 years was likely priced out last year. It doesn’t matter how long any of us have followed the club for, Soriano doesn’t care about any of us. We’re numbers and figures to him and nothing more, and these piss-take price hikes prove it. He drives to the Etihad through Beswick, one of the poorest areas in the country, but still makes the decision to increase prices year on year.

City aren’t some little team who survive week-to-week on ticket money and the half-time raffle. We're the fifth most valuable club in Europe, we spend millions of pounds on new players every summer, we’re owned by a nation state, for Christ’s sake. I can afford my season ticket, it’s only gone up £15, but it’s gone up by roughly that amount every season since 2010. As the club has become richer and richer, the price of an adult ticket to sit in the exact same seat has gone up by more than £100. Where does that stop? Does it ever stop? You’ll only be arsed about price hikes when you realise you can’t afford it, and that’s a disgraceful attitude to have.

For those that can go to most games the season cards are great value even with the small increase. Works out around £20-ish a game? Not much more than a regular ticket to see the frank Clarke / Alan Ball sides twenty odd years ago.

We didn’t sell out the semi final at Wembley and about six or seven away games this season because the accumulation of seasoncard or matchday tickets for home games, away tickets and cup tickets cost too much over the season to justify the semifinal trip or games like Cardiff away.

If they priced everything more fairly we’d sell out everywhere every game.

And this morning, there are Blues who’ve been on the brink of being priced out for years but have just kept on going, who have now been priced out.

Why don’t the club and fans backing the club get this? Or why don’t they care? All for the sake of the club fucking earning about £1m for the price rises.

In reply to the 'stop moaning and pay up' apologists I would say the following:

Just because you can afford it (I can too) doesn't make it right.

I expect an increase next year, the year after and subsequent years as clearly it is policy to up prices.

If honest I cannot afford it but can just manage it with the DD scheme, bit I do think it is unecessary and have had mates stop going and some who stopped now coming back because they have umproved finances.

I would guess most of our fans earn less than 23 grand a year so ticket prices should reflect that.
