Season Ticket Renewals - small increases (again)

My season card went up £15 but after 16 years i have decided enough is enough. The ironic (or moronic) thing is, the box they send it in probably costs the increase or at least a big chunk of it.

Also how many will drop from Platinum to Gold? Meaning a £15 increase results in a £35 net loss overall.

Those fans also that moan about FA Cup tickets being £115. Well next year they will probably be £125 so if you save up £2.60 a week for the next 48 weeks that should cover the cost, that is the UK football fan logical thinking isn't it?

Short term gains for long term losses.

Brilliant point

No its not the polar opposite view of most of the fans. Just because it's your view it is not the same for the rest, every single season ticket holder I know is fine with the small increase and teh 1894 Group are talking on behalf of the majority here, as the renewal figures will show.

Granted that is my personal view and I’m aware it’s not the view of all fans but of everybody I know that I go home and away with, from either talking to directly or seeing their social media posts today, of which there’s easily well in excess of 200 people, some of which are even part of the 1894 group themselves, there’s not a single person that is “fine” with the increase. That’s why I used the term the majority and Begrudgingly paying it is not the same as being fine with it.

The renewal figures won’t show anything other than they can get away with it. I’ve already renewed, it doesn’t mean I’m fine with it, I’m dead against it, I just have no other option as I’m not prepared to give up a lifelong seasoncard.

I see a lot of justification of another increase because we have won a domestic treble and seeing the greatest football we have ever seen as City.

So by that logic i guess when Pep goes and we have a slump and win nothing for a few years we can expect a reduction then?

Exactly.

Justify another rise because we’re watching great football.

Can those who are happy with the rise please try and explain how roughly £800,000 makes the team play better, and makes them win trophies?

I can appreciate £300mill in in prize money, etc, does, as we can afford to keep on buying the best players with that money.

Oh, while I’m off on one. How much are those f***ing pointless season tickets goody tins costing us? 44,000 of them. Exactly.

Notwithstanding your point on the increase, I think some people (like me) will drop platinum as it has no real benefit anymore. The loyalty points system for away games no longer works as it did 3 years ago. (Don’t want to digress onto away tickets).

On the prices, I think there is a good spread of prices. The club has plainly gone for a yield management approach as can be seen from the number of colours on the pricing chart.
As long as there are enough of the affordable prices for people, I am relatively relaxed. It is when the prices are too expensive for people even if they are prepared to relocate, that I would get worried.
I don’t have the stats to say whether this is a large number or fans or not.

if you are struggling you don't go to football end of. what is it 80p a game extra?

fucking frightening.
This . when I was struggling I couldn't justify spending anything on football and extra £ 10 or so a season was neither her nor there. There was no bluemoon to moan on and I didn't expect City to adjust their pricing for me . I got on with it stopped going and now lifes pretty good and I can afford my football again, but a few pounds on the price of tickets had nothing to do with it.

I have just returned from renewing my season ticket as well as my sister's. I am quite sure that ours has gone down. We sit in the Colin bell stand level 1 and have just paid for the two off us a tad over £1800. I was expecting it to be a lot closer to the £1,950 for the both of us, so I am quite happy with that.

Only '£15'.....in past years I've moved from 117 to 315, dropped platinum, dropped the CL scheme....this year the LC is going. I've got plenty of points for a ticket if we get to the final so missing an earlier round game will cover the rise.

The point is though that it shouldn't be like this, FFP is always banded about but for the monetary gain we could just get a jockstrap sponsor or similar.

Another rise next season & it'll be all aways turfed (not that I do many now) apart from finals....
