They can. And they do.
Regardless of the fans asking every season for at least a price freeze. Nothing more. Not a decrease. Not for a set period of time. Just a price freeze.
But one day, when Pep goes, and the team’s success and domination the pitch starts to tails off, which will happen, let’s see how many City fans snap up these season tickets. Let’s see how many more empty seats start appearing around the Etihad. And let’s see how the board members and directors react then. Because there is only so far you can push a fan/person financially.
If the club added up all the fans who have dropped Cup schemes, dropped platinum, moved to cheaper seats, stopped eating and drinking as much inside the stadium on matchday, etc, due to the constant season ticket price rises, I think the club will find they are probably or definitely financially worse off.
But I haven’t got the data to prove that.
