Seasoncard - 2021/22

Not sure you're right with price of programme when I first went as a kid it was 2 shilling in scoreboard 6d to transfer into Kippax if it was pissing down and programmes were a shilling (5p) then. :-)
I remember it was 2p on the 53 bus so it was choice of walking or getting a programme. I usually walked.

Once downloaded, it'll go into your Google or Apple wallet. From there, it's a blue Square with a barcode. That's what you'll need for the game and you scan that like at a self service checkout. They used it for the CL game and it worked ok, but with a few thousand people. Will definitely be getting to the Norwich game early, as suspect there's going to be pretty big queues!

Imagine what the queues will be like at the concourse bars with so many of us getting there early !

Mine is in my Apple wallet it’s NFC, no barcode so when I open it the hold near reader pops up Just a little tip, put the top of the iPhone near the reader that’s where the chip is

I don’t think there’s a barcode - it’s the same tickets as we had for the Everton game, just a blue square - all a bit confusing trying to work out what you were meant to scan - you just sort of hold your phone close to the turnstile until eventually it “bips”

Blue square is on one screen, the bar code on another? Got me befuddled.

On my Google Pay there's the blue square and below it "Show Code". Press on that and you get a barcode. But I don't know whether you show the blue square or the barcode at the turnstile.

Bought an NFC enabled smart phone which I didn't want.

Installed Google Pay app which I didn't want and will only use to get into the stadium.

Downloaded my season ticket (or whatever the fuck they're calling it now) to my new unloved NFC enabled smart phone.

As my brother doesn't have NFC on his smartphone he will need to upgrade it (which he doesn't want to do) or buy a printer which he doesn't need or find the time to collect his ticket from the stadium before every game.

I fucking hate the cunts that are 'running' (should that be ruining) our club.

They should be falling over themselves to make it easier to attend football matches in the current climate not erecting unnecessary barriers to entry.

You’re in favour of the changes then?

Do you go to the match with your kid? If he's on your F&F just add it to your wallet. He can put on the exchange it if he's not going. If you pass them around that are both on you single use phone

Yep. Gone through his email, on my phone. Asks for his supporter number, then says you can’t use that anymore. So we tried with his email and password. Comes up with his new account, but it’s as if he’s a new supporter. No points, not even the same supporter number. Think it will be a phone call on Monday!!
In exactly the same boat mate. Looks like they have disassociated my lads email address and supporter number. So I have 2 supporter numbers linked to my email address with one password. Of course you cannot log in and change the email address on one of the supporter numbers like any sensible system would allow, oh no you have to fuck about with customer services.
Thing that gets me is how fucking simple is it to write code so it only allows 1 password for one email address and one supporter number, yet they seem incapable of creating a system that prevents it fucking up.

If I turn NFC on, it looks like that (Google Pay on Android). Looks like just holding it to the reader would work. If I click show code, screen changes to white (& full brightness) with a bar code. If I turn NFC off, the bar code is on the blue screen below so you could just scan it straight in.

Don't think it therefore needed NFC, but it'll probably work quicker than the bar code for the phones that have it

could at least make a gold ticket, gold.

We both always go to the match so there'll never be a need to use the exchange.

His match day routine involves a couple of hours in the pub with his mates before having another inside the ground. My matchplay routine sees me leaving home at 2:25 (for a 3PM kick off) walking to the ground and being in my seat in 105 with 5 minutes to spare before kick off. So the multiple cards on one wallet doesn't really work; we're brothers not siamese twins.

Point here is friction. Most technological developments seek to reduce friction not increase it. I suppose the best recent example is the transition from chip and pin to contactless - the credit card companies and retail outlets didn't insist we all move to contactless by removing the chip and pin option, the two alternatives coexisted. Seems to me that Everton got it right allowing the new and old technologies to exist side by side.

I'll be there whatever the inconvenience but my big worry is how many (older) fans we will lose permanently.

I don't get why the FAQs say it requires NFC when it can display a barcode. They must have a barcode reader for the printed tickets, so any smartphone with Google Pay or Apple Wallet should be fine

This is something I’m surprised nobody has picked up on.

You’ll be able to scan a “print at home” ticket displayed on your phone in the barcode scanner, if you don’t have an NFC smartphone.

My understanding (and I could well be wrong) is that the NFC chip in your phone communicates with the NFC reader in the stadium gate.

I think someone posted that at OT the bar code is sufficient so NFC technology is not required.
