Fortunately, as we all know, MCFC's database is superbly hack-proof.
It's been made worse because they said fans would have a choice of a seasoncard for this season but then changed their minds. Then it's using the FNC technology, something I'd never heard of until the Everton game. So loads thinking they could download it to their phone discovered that the phone they have isn't compatible.
It's not as if even the older fans don't have knowledge of phones, technology and the internet, many do, but they're not twenty something's renewing them every year or two years to the latest all singing and dancing model. How long before the FNC technology is out of date and we all have to buy new phones again? As you say, a shit show.

For anyone intent on using Print At Home, I've just picked up this laser printer from Rymans (not for tickets, my daughter needs one for Uni). £99 with free delivery if using FREEDEL40.
One caveat is that it is b/w only so am assuming the printed tickets don't need to be colour. Laser printers don't waste expensive ink like inkjets and the ink doesn't dry up either when not used regularly. Plus it's got direct USB connection as well as the usual wifi (which previous printers I've had seem to struggle with). Comes with a toner cartridge for 1000 pages (or about 50 seasons ;) ) No scanner though.

Replacement snide cartridges are as little as around £10 off Amazon, or £45 for Brother.

Surely if all you want is a printer for basic needs you shouldn't be paying more than 50 quid. Canon PIXMA from Aldi online for £24.99 with cartridges

I've had Canon, HP and Epson cheap inkjet printers and they are all shite. You waste all the ink getting the thing set up! And if you don't use it for a week or two it needs re-setting up again. Then if you try using snide cartridges they sometimes refuse to play ball. I'd definitely go laser if you can.
i had to sort my dad’s out - he has a knackered iphone SE and no idea what a digital wallet is. he’s in his 70s. regularly forgets to take his phone out with him and wouldn't notice anyway.
Also the ‘just print at home’ brigade - who the hell has a working printer and why should they spend the time and effort doing so. The season ticket is hundreds pounds, the least the club can do is give you the same strip of plastic they always have to get into the ground and access the event you’ve paid for already.
Just shows how arrogant football is to treat customers like they do.
This year there should have been a free option to get a seasoncard as normal that you could apply for - with those who are more tech savvy not bothering.
And like I said you would not be forced to create a bank account. You can purchase prepaid cards.
You are the one that is bringing up this theory of the club ignoring non spenders. It is not a real thing. People also decide to spend their hard earned money on the club by the way so I don’t know why you are bringing up some random trips.
Totally agree. Any other service customers would just say fuck that and go somewhere else, football fans can't do that and they know it.
They were going to keep the seasoncards an option this year but went back on it.

I don’t want to cut my nose off to spite my face but if there is no card as promised when I phoned up I won’t accept lies from a company I have given thousands to since the 70’s!

As I have said previously downloaded ticket to my iPhone 5s ,went down to the ground this morning to try it and it worked
It is better you move on, an uninformed employee made a mistake, there are no cards available and the club never said there was. Some people have genuine problems, which doesn’t include demanding the club gives you a card which doesn’t exist or else you cancel your season ticket lol.
Emotionally they've got you as they have all of us. If you cancel they won't give a fuck, you'll just get some kid on the phone if you call in who probably doesn't even like football. One of the many on the waiting list will take your place, no impact on the club whatsoever,harsh but true.
The club could sometimes make more of the fans. Look at Pete the badge. He's known everywhere, a colourful eccentric character, travels from the London area to attend games and has for years. He often books B+B's and stays overnight. He's probably in his 70's. They could scrub him up a bit, promote him for good publicity, make him a mascot or something. They could reward him a bit, maybe put him up in a local hotel overnight, Free seasoncard, something, anything but they do nothing. They give players that have been here ten years a seasoncard for life but a fan who's been here 50+ years gets bugger all.
