An article by me about the new craze sweeping football

Ha ha - never knew you used to be a plane spotter.

Me too in the 70s - the weekly Wardair 747 at Ringway was the highlight of the week I seem to recall.

Great piece that I have just forwarded to a rag who fits the bill perfectly.

Also reminded me of the days of the football special, when going through Crewe..... all the coke cans and other rubbish accumulated along the journey was thrown at the train spotters gathered on mass at the end of the station...

Or at fans of other teams waiting for a train. ;-)

Rascal, you are obviously modelling yourself on Anthony Wedgewood Benn, another toff from posh parts who gave it all up (sort of) to follow the left wing dream. There is one line that gives it all away...

"I still vividly remember the excitement of “copping” my first Aeroflot Tupolev 154."

Damn; thought this was going to be about the new Leon.

Or the Marbella- loved my '92 Marbella - K495XNA where are you now? As mechanically advanced as a Raleigh Chopper bike and could keep it going with a tool kit consisting of a knife and fork. Tweleve quid filled it up and it cherised that fuel using it like a miser - 50+mpg ...... sorry some seasonal sentimentality came over me there
