Me too in the 70s - the weekly Wardair 747 at Ringway was the highlight of the week I seem to recall.

Great piece that I have just forwarded to a rag who fits the bill perfectly.

Also reminded me of the days of the football special, when going through Crewe..... all the coke cans and other rubbish accumulated along the journey was thrown at the train spotters gathered on mass at the end of the station...

Or the Marbella- loved my '92 Marbella - K495XNA where are you now? As mechanically advanced as a Raleigh Chopper bike and could keep it going with a tool kit consisting of a knife and fork. Tweleve quid filled it up and it cherised that fuel using it like a miser - 50+mpg ...... sorry some seasonal sentimentality came over me there

Jesus fella don't hold back will you..................................... thats my Christmas ruined - I hate funerals over the festive period too. I can only hope part of my dearly departed Marbella is in the fridge I bought recently - maybe melfted down to make a door............................
