Yeah all those links to Savic and Clichy made those signings obvious months out. With Kompany in the squad and as captain his voice matters and I expect he is talking about Vertonghen.

No official confirmation from Uruguay press yet. Don't really think that the transaction will be on that range to be honest either; the most expensive player Uruguay (and Nacional, of course) sold was Nicolas Lodeiro for around 5m.

Coates has great pace, and um, double rythm? Like he knows how to position himself and jump, he is great in both 'areas'. The only thing I must admit is that he is still a bit unexperienced and might do a rookie mistake (like last game against Mexico playing for the Nat Team he commited a foul by minute 93 that got him his second yellow card, missing next game against Argentina)

We can't have a serious link to a man who has publicly stated he wants to play one more year with Ajax. Meaning, next year, the fight will be on. To be hoonest, I am not too worried. Unless Savix becomes the Dawgz Bollox this year, I am certain Lescott and Kolo do no have what it takes to instill enough confidence in the coach that he doesn't need a new CD. :)

Has nothing to do with Intelligence. Some members have players they like and talk about a lot! And those members are associated with said players.

For me? (I.e. the Dax above) that will be Javier Pastore and Jan Vertonghen!

I'm so with you on Javier Pastore. Italians often rely on pure talent to open defenses, especially shooting from distance (such is the defensive focus). Pastore has the ability to open up defenses like a can opener. Honestly, He's as close to ronaldinho as anyone in the transfer window so far.

But Vertonghen? I don't think so sadly. Are we going to be the next R. madrid? Kaka, mercedes benzema on the bench? Not yet as indulgent IMO. 2 world class center backs and back ups.

Pastore is one of the few big fish in a little pond players that will look even better in a team of higher quality.

When I watched him, two many times his teams would fluff up a killer final ball that came out of nowhere not have a decent enough first touch and and awareness to react to an unexpected pass.
